According to investigators, all three vehicles were northbound on 288 when a Chevrolet Silverado failed to control speed and struck a Ford Explorer, causing the Explorer to spin and strike a Nissan Versa.

Passengers in the Explorer were taken to the hospital, according to investigators. One of the passengers was a 5-year-old girl who was sitting in the right rear seat. She was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the Silverado did not show signs of intoxication, so no charges have been filed. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

KPRC will update with more information as it becomes available.
