3 tied up during home invasion

HOUSTON – A family was tied up and terrorized inside their northeast Houston home on Thursday.

Houston police said three men forced their way into a home on Ritz near Eastland about 10:30 a.m.

A couple and a handyman were tied up while the couple's frightened children watched, investigators said.

"They were looking for drugs – no money, nothing – just drugs," said a relative who did not want to be identified. "They came to the wrong place."

Houston police got to the house shortly after the attack was reported, but the men were already gone.

The handyman said the robbers put a gun to his head and the rope that was put around his wrist left scars.

"Please, people, find the right job," said the couple's relative. "We're in the great land, I know you can get a good job. Don't look for easy money."

Detailed descriptions of the robbers have not been released.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
