3 teens arrested for car burglaries in Fort Bend County

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – The Fort Bend County sheriff's office has arrested three teen suspects in connection with multiple car burglaries.

Deputies say they received a call early Monday morning regarding vehicles that had been broken into in the Winfield Lakes subdivision. Deputies arrested one 13-year-old and two 15-year-old males, who were in possession of stolen property.

Detectives learned the three teens had decided to begin breaking into vehicles two weeks prior to their arrest. The teens would sneak out of their homes early in the morning and search for unlocked vehicles.

According to the suspects, they would go "car hopping."

Detectives say they recovered stolen cell phones, cameras, computer tablets, a knife, personal accessories, shoes and a hand gun.

The teens have been turned over to Fort Bend County Juvenile Detention authorities.
