3 teen boys, 1 girl in custody after carjacking, chase, crash in north Houston

HOUSTON – Four teenagers are in a great deal of trouble after a carjacking, a wild police chase and a crash in north Houston.

It all began around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday when the teens carjacked a person in an apartment complex on Rushcreek at Northborough, according to Houston police.

Less than a half hour later, an HPD unit spotted the stolen car on Ella at W. Greens and attempted to pull it over, but the 16-year-old driver sped off.

The teen drove back to Rushcreek, where two boys and a girl hopped out and took off running.  The driver then sped off again and a second HPD unit joined in the chase.

The 16-year-old eventually lost control of the car near Ella and Rankin and slammed head-on into a tree. He was then taken into custody.

Officers brought in a K-9 unit to help track down the teens who fled on foot.  All three were captured; two of them were found hiding on a roof. Police said they were all 15 and 16 years old.

The teens nor any of the officers were injured.
