3 men in custody after alleged getaway driver leaves them at CVS

HOUSTON – Houston police took three men into custody early Tuesday morning who they say tried to rob a CVS Pharmacy in southwest Houston.

Employees told police they had just locked up the the store on Westheimer Road near Woodland Park Drive when the thieves tried to enter around midnight.

When they failed to get inside, the masked men targeted a man who was fixing his car in the parking lot.

Officers pulled up to the store before the robbers had left the scene.

According to investigators, two of the men ran in one direction. Police stopped them almost immediately. The other managed to run several blocks before being arrested.

A fourth man, who was waiting in a car outside the CVS, drove off before police could detain him. Officers were searching for that final suspect Tuesday morning.
