3 men detained in Texas City narcotics bust, police say

TEXAS CITY, Texas – A narcotics search Tuesday, conducted by Texas City Police Department, Galveston County Tactical Response Team, U.S. Marshals and Galveston PD K-9 team, led to the arrest of three men.

During the search, officials said one man was detained in a vehicle while leaving the residence in the 100 block of 17th Avenue. Two other men were detained inside.

Authorities said that during the search they collected, 2,454 grams of marijuana, totaling 5.63 pounds, .2 grams of cocaine, one handgun, two shotguns and 104.29 grams of tetrahydrocannabinols (THC) concentrate. 

Officials said Gabriel Esquivel, Michael Joseph Medina III, and Chandler James Blasberg were charged with manufacture of a controlled substance.

Esquivel has a bond set at $40,000 dollars, and Michael Joseph Medina III and Chandler James Blasberg at $80,000 authorities said. 

The investigation is ongoing.
