3 men accused of raping girl, 14
Officials warn about website 'MeetMe'
Three men have been accused of raping a 14-year-old girl. Investigators said the girl met the men through a social networking website.
San Jacinto County sheriff's deputies said the girl and a 17-year-old girl were hanging out in October and logged onto a site called MeetMe. They were setting up meeting locations with men in the Coldspring area, investigators said.
Detectives said the girls went to a location, met a man and then went to another location for sex.
The 14-year-old girl met three men on separate occasions, officials said.
Damion Harrison, 18, has been arrested and charged with sexual assault of a child.
Anthony Burton, 27, has been charged with sexual assault of a child, but he has not been arrested yet.
Investigators said they have not identified the third man.
The 17-year-old girl, Summer Adams, has also been arrested and charged with failure to report a felony.
Deputies said they learned about the incidents after the girl made an outcry at school.
Residents in the area agree the internet is a scary place and they hope this serves as a warning to other parents that everyone needs to be on alert.
"They do need to monitor what sites their kids are going to and talk to their kids. They need to be aware, yes and keep an eye on their kids closer.," said resident and parent Cora Standley.
Anyone with information regarding Burton's whereabouts or the identity of the third man is asked to call San Jacinto County Crime Stoppers at 936-653-TIPS.
