FRIENDSWOOD -

Three teenagers are in trouble after police said they burglarized cars in Friendswood.

Friendswood police said the three boys were entering unlocked vehicles on October 1 and stealing items that were in plain sight.

Officers responded to a possible burglary in progress in the 700 block of Red Oak Lane at 4:15 a.m. where the caller said three men were looking into cars.

Upon arrival, police found the three suspects. Two of them ran away, but a 16-year-old boy was taken into custody. That suspect identified the others as 17-year-old Parker Bruno and another 16-year old boy.

The suspect who was caught admitted that he and the other suspects were burglarizing cars.

Just before noon that day, police were contacted after a resident in the 500 block of Twin Pines Drive reported that his vehicle was burglarized. The man said a GPS unit, knife and a bag of coins were stolen.

Then, around 10:40 p.m., another car burglary was reported in the 700 block of Red Oak Lane. Two pairs of Oakley sunglasses were stolen out of the vehicle overnight.

All three teens were taken into custody on October 3 and charged with burglary of a motor vehicle. Bruno and the other teen who ran from police were also charged with evading arrest.

Bruno’s bond was set at $3,000.  The two juveniles were transported to the Galveston County Juvenile Justice Center in Texas City.

Police believe there are other victims who either did not realize their vehicle was burglarized or elected not to report it because their vehicles were left unlocked with things of little value stolen. Anyone who believes they were burglarized should contact Friendswood police at 281-996-3300.
