A sport utility vehicle taking 10 children to a water park veered out of control and overturned on an East Texas interstate highway, killing three children and injuring the other nine occupants of the vehicle.

The crash happened about 2:15 p.m. Monday on Interstate 20 near the town of Van, about 70 miles east of Dallas.

The Texas Department of Public Safety reported those killed were all girls, ages 13, six and two. KLTV-TV (http://bit.ly/SehAMM) of Tyler reports three other children were taken to Children's Medical Center at Dallas, while six others, including two adults, were taken to East Texas hospitals.

No conditions or identities were released.
