3 arrested on drug charges
Methamphetamine and other drugs have landed three men in jail, Friendswood police said.
On Monday afternoon, officers stopped a car in the 500 block of East Parkwood Avenue. The officers saw the passenger toss two baggies out of the window, which was later discovered to contain methamphetamine, Hydrocodone and Xanax, detectives said.
Officers arrested the driver, Richard Holcombe, 31, and the passenger, Ronald Hall, 28, both of Alvin, on several drug-related charges. Hall had just been released from jail four days earlier on similar charges and was still wearing an ankle monitoring bracelet, police said. His prior arrest record includes burglary, theft and drug charges.
Holcombe was also on parole for robbery and had previously been charged with drug and weapons offenses.
Police said they also found a marijuana cigarette in the car and learned the two men were on their way to nearby HEB store at Blackhawk and Beltway 8 to meet their supplier.
After witnessing a transaction, officers stopped Leonel Gonzalez, 29, of Houston, detectives said. Gonzalez was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. He was already serving a five years probation for possession and had previously been arrested on assault, weapon, alcohol and drug charges.
