Harris County sheriff's deputies said the trio shot Cinthia Cruz-Alcantara and a man at an apartment complex in the 6400 block of York Meadows in northwest Harris County about 12:25 p.m. on Wednesday.

Cruz-Alcantara died at the scene. The wounded man, whose name has not been released, was hospitalized in critical condition.

Detectives said the wounded man told them that he was involved in a drug transaction with the three suspects and they robbed him.

Cruz-Alcantara was not part of the transaction and was shot when she walked out of a bathroom during the robbery, investigators said.

The wounded man lived with two of the suspects and admitted to taking part in many drug deals with them, deputies said.
