EVENT DESCRIPTION:
We will help raise the awareness of the children in the church and community by teaching them, "The 8 Major Rules for Safety," How to Avoid Child Lures, Internet Safety, The A B C's of Safety, Character Education, and Personal Safety, etc. Our techniques focus on children. They will be taught how to recognize and avoid the lures of skillful predators. Project Kidnap Prevention's technique is to teach in a non-fearful memory enhancing way through song, video and "What if" games, quizzes, and role playing. In addition to reaching children in the church, we also provide classes and follow-up tools for parents. Parents are taught and/or given resources for, "The 30 Proven Ways to Protect Your Child from Becoming Lost, Abducted, Abused, or Victimized, " Internet Safety, Personal Safety-A Guide For Parents, and so much more.

EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Camp For All, a nonprofit camping and retreat facility for people with special needs, will host its First Annual Camp For All Hilltop Ride on Saturday, April 3, 2004. This benefit bike ride starts at 8 a.m. and will begin and end at the campsite, located at 6301 Rehburg Road in Burton, Texas (near Brenham). Cyclists may participate in the 22-mile, 44-mile or 66-mile ride. The entry fee for the ride is $50 per cyclist and includes a T-shirt, lunch and refreshments. A full 75 percent of the ride's proceeds will benefit Camp For All, with the remaining portion going to The Kiwanis Foundation of Houston and The Houston Texans Foundation. The Hilltop Ride will provide a stunning tour of Washington County in the spring, complete with bluebonnet-covered meadows and scenic vistas of Lake Sommerville.

This 20th anniversary cycling event will include over 12,000 riders who will be traveling from Houston to Austin. This fundraising event is organized by the Lone Star Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society here in Houston. After an overnight stay in LaGrange, Sundays' ride will finish at our state capitol in Austin, the traditional finish from earlier years. The event is a celebration of life honoring cancer survivors and those whose lives have been touched by the disease.
