HOUSTON -- A 10-year-old boy told police that he was abducted from his home and taken to a nearby shopping center by two men before he escaped, police told News2Houston Thursday.
The child said he was feeding his dog and taking out the trash at his home in the 18000 block of Kings Lynn near NASA Road 1 around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday when two men grabbed him and forced him in a pickup truck.
"His mother had called me and asked if he was over here because sometimes he comes over here. This is about the only place he comes. The child doesn't leave the yard hardly ever," said Shirley Hamberg, a neighbor.
The boy said he was taken to a shopping center several miles away on Bay Area Boulevard at Space Center Boulevard. He was able to get away and run home.
"He ran right by -- we were sitting right over here -- three (or) four of us," said Louie Wilson, a neighbor. "We couldn't see him too much because he was going as fast as he can. He was really trotting down the sidewalk. He had little shorts on, no shirt and no shoes."
"He looked really traumatized to me. You know, how somebody's eyes will look after they've been crying for a long time. That's the way he looked. He looked scared," Hamberg said. "It's scary, really scary. I'm not letting the kids come out and go to catch the school bus by themselves anymore."

Officials said the boy escaped before he was physically harmed.
Police do not have a description of the suspects. The vehicle is described as a late-model black Ford extended cab truck with a suspension lift.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Webster Police at (281) 316-4156.
