HOUSTON -- All sorts of costumed characters work Houston streets to drum up business. But one Katy teen believes the costume he wears has made him a tall target.
Kyle Lincecum said the 11-foot high bird costume he has worn for more than a year to promote business for Mattresses For Less is the reason he has been assaulted three times in the past four months.
But, Lincecum said sometimes the blue-bird costume he wears his the focal point of harassment and jokes.
"Five guys on skateboards came by (Saturday) and got me from behind, grabbed me around the neck and started shaking me," Lincecum told News2Houston.
Lincecum said Saturday was not the first time he had been assaulted. The teen said three months ago someone pushed him out into the street where he landed face down.

"I see him out there every Saturday," Karla Campos, a nearby worker, said.
Campos said she felt bad for the boy after he was beat up trying to make a buck.
"During the summer, when it was (in the 90s), I know how hot it was in that costume and that guy was out there every day," Campos said.
Two teens were arrested and cited for assault by contact.
