'26 Acts of Kindness' goes viral

HOUSTON – Newtown's heartbreak has a lot of people asking, "What can I do?"

NBC's Ann Curry took to social media and asked people to imagine what would happen if all of us committed to 26 acts of kindness to honor each life lost in Newtown, Conn. Immediately, the initiative of hope went viral and it didn't take long for Houstonians to jump right in.

One of our own KPRC Local 2 staff members took one day to complete 20 acts of kindness in and around Houston. Twitter followers jumped in with encouragement and ideas, while others tweeted things like, "You're making me cry with your #20Acts - I must follow suit this weekend."

We here at KPRC would like to encourage everyone to jump right in with your own 26 Acts of Kindness. There is no act too big or small as we pay tribute to the lives lost in Newtown, Conn.

We created cards for you to print and hand out so people will know what are you doing and be able to pay it forward. (Click here to print out cards).
