HOUSTON -- Careless driving is being blamed for a sport utility vehicle that slammed into a northeast Houston home at Mitchell and Cardiff around 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Police said the woman behind the wheel of the Ford Expedition ran a stop sign.
She told police that while she was trying to avoid a full collision with a pickup truck in the intersection, she swerved and drove across the yard into home's living room.
No one was home at the time but the homeowner told News2Houston that he was in the middle of a major remodeling project.
The driver of the SUV was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way.
