  • (QUESTIONS)
    1. DOES HEART DISEASE KILL MORE WOMEN EACH YEAR THAN BREAST CANCER?
    2. HEART ATTACK SYMPTOMS ARE DIFFERENT FOR WOMEN THAN WOMEN.
    3. CAN WOMEN SAFELY DRINK AS MUCH ALCOHOL AS MEN?
    4. A WOMAN NEEDS JUST ONE MAMMOGRAM IN HER LIFE, IF THE MAMMOGRAM IS NORMAL?
    5. IF YOU FEEL A LUMP IN YOUR BREAST DOES THAT USUALLY MEAN CANCER?
    6. IF YOU'VE BEEN PREGNANT ONCE, YOU'LL BE ABLE TO GET PREGNANT AGAIN?
    (ANSWERS)
    1. True-Heart disease kills about 350,000 woman a year while all types of cancer combined kill only 250,000 women a year.
    2. True-Men have the more commonly, the typical what we call exertion angina or chest pain after they've been walking for a while. Women sometimes have that typical chest pain, but they're more likely to have what we call atypical chest pain, chest pain that occurs while they're just sitting at rest. Sometimes they don't have chest pain at all, they complain of fatigue, nausea and/or jaw pain
    3. True-Since most women have a lower body weight and a higher percentage of fat it changes the way alcohol is distributed in the body, such that for women it has a more concentrated effect. And that means a higher blood alcohol level for women. As a result, the National Institute On Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism says the safe limit for women is one drink a day, for men two drinks
    4. False-The fact that you've had one normal mammogram really just means that up until now and at this very minute you do not have breast cancer, but it's not a future predictor that it's not going to happen. The general consensus for woman age 40 and up that women get screened for a mammogram every one to two years.
    5. False-In fact, about 80-percent of breast lumps are not cancerous. However, if you're an older woman say 85 and you feel an abnormal mass, then there's a much higher chance that there would actually be cancer just because the incidence of cancer is greater as you age
    6. False-Getting pregnant once is no guarantee for the future. Right now, more than 3-million couples in the united states are currently experiencing secondary infertility. One of the reasons ... their age.
