CONROE, Texas -- A Conroe police sergeant has been found guilty of robbing a bank, KPRC Local 2 reported Friday.
Sgt. Michael Tindall robbed of the First Bank of Conroe on Aug. 11, 2008.
Investigators said Tindall monitored a police radio while off duty, walked into the bank wearing a motorcycle helmet and demanded money.
Tindall got away with more than $28,000, police said.
In his first court appearance, Tindall's bond was set at $100,000. His family posted $5,000 cash for his release.
Bank officials reviewed surveillance video and noticed similarities between the robber and Tindall, whom they knew because Tindall worked security for the bank as an off-duty job.
Tindall will be sentenced in June. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
