HOUSTON -- Police need your help in finding a thief who they say robbed a man at gunpoint and then cashed his check, KPRC Local 2 reported Wednesday.
Investigators said on Friday, Feb.19, at around 1:15 a.m., the victim was walking in an apartment complex located in the 8100 block of Sands Point in southwest Houston when he was approached by the suspect.
The suspect pointed a gun at him and demanded all of the victim’s property including any money, police said.
He told him if he did not give him everything he would kill him.
The victim gave the suspect everything he had and the suspect left the complex in a cream-colored car, possibly a Honda or Toyota.
About 4 miles down the road, the suspect later cashed a check belonging to the victim at a store located in the 9800 block of Beechnut.
Investigators said the suspect cashed the check using the name Luis Pereira, which is an alias.
He was captured on a camera in the store where he cashed the check.
The suspect is a 20-to 30-year-old Hispanic man.
He is 5’5” to 5’10” tall and weighs between 150 to 180 pounds.
