Witnesses Say Pickup Truck Driver Was Speeding

HOUSTON -- A bicyclist who was hit by a pickup truck last month has died, KPRC Local 2 reported.Houston police told witnesses that the driver of a red pickup truck was speeding eastbound on Cavalcade Street when he turned northbound onto Kashmere Street at about 6 p.m. on Feb. 18.The pickup truck hit a man on a bicycle, investigators said. He was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where he died on Tuesday. His name has not been released.The driver was issued citations at the scene and released.
