HOUSTON -- Houston police are warning rodeo-goers about phony parking attendants, KPRC Local 2 reported Monday.
Parker Pustejovski said that not following his gut instinct cost him nearly $200 and his ability to trust.
"I should have followed my gut instinct and I didn't. I'm not going back out to the rodeo anymore. I lost trust in parking at places anymore," said Pustejovski.
He said his anger comes after he and his girlfriend were duped on Saturday.
"We were headed to the concert, in a hurry with lots of traffic. There was a sign that said $10 parking and there was a gentleman there with an orange vest on, with a light waving his hand," said Pustejovski.
Pustejovski said he drove into a shopping center at the 9400 block of Main Street.
"We pulled in, paid him, and parked," said Pustejovski.
The pair walked off to the rodeo, just blocks away, to see Jason Aldean in concert.
When the concert wrapped and the couple returned to their car, it wasn't there, and neither were any of the parking attendants.
Pustejovski was not the only one whose car was towed. Police said more than 20 people were tricked into parking where they shouldn't have.
Meantime, in a neighboring parking lot, KPRC Local 2 saw men parking people's cars. We asked if they knew anything about Saturday. Instead of answers, we got the cold shoulder.
As for Pustejovski, he said sharing his story is important because he doesn't want others to go through the same thing.
"It's wrong and I don't want that to happen to other people. I mean, there are hundreds and thousands of people going every year," Pustejovski said.
