HOUSTON -- The candidates for Houston mayor spent the day before the runoff election making their case as to why they should lead the city, KPRC Local 2 reported Friday.
Voters will head to the polls from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday to decide if Annise Parker or Gene Locke will get the job.
The candidates said they're not tired … they're running on adrenaline and both said they're confident.
Parker participated in some private events throughout the morning and had lunch with her campaign workers.
Locke spent the morning going over his strategy with his team.
Both candidates said they would spread their message until the polls close.
"Even though I sense that feeling of victory out there, and the polls are all going in the right direction, polls don't vote," Parker said. "People vote."
"I knew going into this race it would be long, it would be difficult," Locke said. "I expected that. This has been a marathon, but this is something that I wanted to do. I'm excited about it and I'm excited about the potential to be the next mayor of the city of Houston."
