HOUSTON -- A man tried to lure a ninth-grade Montgomery County student into his car after she got off a school bus, KPRC Local 2 reported Friday.

Officials said it is the 10th time so far this year that Conroe ISD has had to send out a letter alerting parents about suspicious men approaching children.The latest incident involved a Caney Creek High School student.She told a guidance counselor that a man approached her and offered her a ride on Wednesday in the Deerwood subdivision.Conroe Independent School District spokeswoman Kathy Clark said the offer was enough to urge the student to get to safety."She ignored him, ran home, and we feel like she did the right thing and she's safe to tell us about it," Clark said.The student was not harmed.Clark said the man was described as Hispanic, about 18 to 20 years old and driving a black four-door vehicle with chrome vents on the front fenders.The Conroe ISD Police Department is investigating.
