Hospital Evacuated After Gas Leak

No Injuries Reported

POSTED: Friday, November 20, 2009

Part of a northeast Houston hospital was evacuated because of a gas leak, KPRC Local 2 reported Friday.

Officials at LBJ General Hospital, 5656 Kelley Street, said they noticed the leak at about 5 p.m. Thursday.

Construction crews working to expand the emergency room accidentally hit the gas line, causing the leak, according to authorities.

The first floor had to be evacuated until crews capped the gas line Thursday evening.

No one was injured.
