HOUSTON -- Dozens of purebred dogs will soon be up for adoption. The Houston-area SPCA removed 61 huskies, golden retrievers and German shepherds from a Waller County home on Thursday.
The owner, a breeder who sold the dogs to earn a living, became overwhelmed with the cost of their vaccinations and medical care due to the struggling economy, officials said.
He asked the SPCA to help find them homes.
The dogs are undergoing evaluations before being put up for adoption.
The dogs' pictures will be posted on
www.houstonspca.org when they are ready for homes.
