LA PORTE, Texas -- A woman is hit by a vehicle and killed outside the motel where she worked, KPRC Local 2 reported.La Porte police said someone hit Debbie J. Moody, 57, at the Comfort Suites in the 900 block of South 8th Street at about 10:50 p.m. Monday.Evidence suggested Moody may have been hit as the driver was backing up, police said.Witnesses described the vehicle as a dark-colored, possibly green, SUV-style vehicle. Witnesses were not able to describe the driver and didn't know if there were any passengers.Moody was taken to San Jacinto Hospital, where she died. She was a night clerk at the motel.Anyone with information is asked to call the La Porte Police Department at 281-471-2141 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
