HOUSTON -- A man has been charged in connection with the deaths of three people whose bodies were found in a burned-out apartment, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Houston police said residents in the area of Brooks Street near Common Street heard eight gunshots at about 7 p.m.
About 10 minutes later, flames were seen shooting out of an apartment over the Family Grocery and Washateria.
Firefighters got the blaze under control, went inside the apartment and found three bodies. One of the bodies was found in a closet, another was found in a bedroom and another was found near the balcony.
The three male victims were believed to have been shot, investigators said.
Officials said it appeared that fires were set in different parts of the building.
Witness Reynoldo Castillo said he saw Ken Pham, the fourth person who lived in the apartment, lock the burglar bars over the door.
Castillo told investigators that Pham pointed a gun at him and another man before he took off in a green Toyota Camry with Texas license plate No. Y13 HGW.
Pham, 36, has been charged with capital murder.
Police said they had been called to the apartment for domestic disturbances in the past.
Anyone with information regarding Pham's whereabouts is asked to call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
