Harris County will bury one of two remaining unidentified victims of one of the worst mass murder cases that shook Houston in the early 1970s, KPRC Local 2 reported Wednesday.

Unidentified Mass Murder Victim

The victim is a white male who was between the ages of 15 and 20 when he was murdered.

The crime was linked to the mass slayings committed by Dean Corril, Elmer Wayne Henley and David Brooks.

The victims were all young men, who where lured to Southwest Houston, tortured and strangled.

The remains of 27 men were dug up after Henley confessed to killing Corril.

Henley and Brooks are now serving out life sentences in the Texas prison system.

More than three decades later, the Harris County Medical Examiners office said it has exhausted DNA testing and other efforts to locate the victim's family.

He will be laid to rest in the county cemetery on Thursday morning.

"The idea that someone can die in such a traumatic way and there could be loved ones out there not knowing and still searching, that touches your heart," said Ellen Seaton, director of social services for Harris County.
