HOUSTON -- A man tried to rob a southwest Houston bank, but he didn't get what he wanted, KPRC Local 2 reported.
FBI officials said the man walked into the Chase Bank in the 9200 block of Westheimer Road at about 6:10 p.m. Monday.
Investigators said the man pulled out a small black semiautomatic pistol and asked the teller, "Do you know what this is?"
The teller fumbled for her drawer and mistakenly pulled out an empty drawer. She told the robber that she had to get the other drawer out and he got upset that the process was taking too long, officials said.
The man walked out of the bank without any cash.
The would-be robber was described as white, 28 to 35 years old, 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall with a slender build, light complexion and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a dark colored long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and sunglasses on top of his head.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
