HOUSTON -- A man known as a prominent home builder and his wife were arrested and charged with drug possession and intent to distribute, KPRC Local 2 reported Thursday.

Adrian Mosley, 39, and Anissa Mosley, 41, were charged with multiple federal drug trafficking violations.

Agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration said they had been tracking the couple for more than a decade, believing the two were running a cocaine distribution operation out of their home.

"In doing a financial investigation, the homes that he built and what he reported in income did not cover the lifestyle he was living," said Bill Furay, with the DEA.

The couple was pulled over in June driving through Beaumont. Investigators said the couple had four children in their pickup truck, and four kilograms of cocaine stashed in a horse trailer.

"They gave their full consent and once the cocaine was discovered, obviously, they were quite surprised and dismayed," Furay said.

The Mosleys were arrested in October for intent to distribute after investigators said they found another 20 kilograms in their Pearland home in the 3100 block of Old Chocolate Bayou.

Jerry Heaton said by all appearances, Adrian Mosley was a pillar of the community and a quiet neighbor.

"You'd just see cars going in, staying about 15 minutes, then they'd leave," he said. "It's not like you see running in there, a gang shooting, stuff like that. It was just -- they keep a low profile."

Adrian Mosley received a Pinnacle Award from the Houston Chronicle in 2003 for giving back.

Adrian and Anissa Mosley were released on bond.

If found guilty, they could be sentenced to life in prison.
