3 Arrested After Bait Car Stolen

Rickey Linkey, David Herod, Ernie Scales Arrested

Three theft suspects were arrested after a bait car set up by the Galveston County Sheriff's Office was stolen, KPRC Local 2 reported Thursday.

Deputies said one of the bait cars was taken earlier this week and tracked to a location around 28th Street and Avenue L in Santa Fe, Texas.

An investigation led to warrants being issued for Rickey Linkey, 44, David Herod, 39, and Ernie Scales, 46.

Linkey and Herod have been charged with felony theft, felony criminal mischief and engaging in organized criminal activity.

Scales has been charged with engaging in organized criminal activity.

Officials said more charges are pending.
