2 Teens Hurt In Drive-By Shooting

HCSO: Shooting Possibly Retaliation For Previous Altercation

POSTED: Thursday, November 5, 2009
UPDATED: 12:01 pm CST November 5, 2009

Two teenagers remained hospitalized Thursday, the day after they were wounded in a drive-by shooting in northwest Harris County, KPRC Local 2 reported.

"I just got home and I heard my little brother has been shot," Larry Wilson said.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said the shooting happened in the 19300 block of Bankers House Drive on Wednesday evening.

"Speaking to witnesses, we learned that several friends were outside talking when a black vehicle with dark-tinted windows car drove eastbound down the alley, the passenger-side window rolled down and a male passenger began shooting," said Dennis Wolfford of the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

The teens suffered multiple wounds, officials said. Lance Wilson, 17, was taken to Ben Taub Hospital. The other went by helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he underwent surgery. Their conditions were not released.

Investigators said they believe the shooter and the victims knew each other.

"Apparently, between these two groups of teenage males, there was an altercation last Saturday night at a local club," Wolfford said. "Possibly a weapon was brandished at that point … a physical altercation. This is possibly retaliation."

Investigators have not been able to identify the shooter yet.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
