Go-Cart Wreck

Houston police said a group of teenagers was playing with a go-cart in the parking lot of the Windshire Apartments in the 4400 block of South Shaver Road at about 6:25 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators said the 16-year-old darted out in front of a motorist, who wasn't able to stop in time to avoid hitting the go-cart.

The teen was rushed to a local hospital, where he died. His name was not released.

The driver will not face any charges, police said. She was also taken to a hospital, but the extent of her injuries was not released.
