UPDATED: 9:54 am CST November 2, 2009

A woman was found dead inside her northeast Houston apartment and police need help finding the man who killed her, police told KPRC Local 2 Monday.

Houston police said a man knocked on Iveth Leila Munoz's door at an apartment complex in the 16000 block of Cotillion Drive on Friday morning.

Munoz opened the door and immediately closed it on the man, who forced his way into the apartment, investigators said.

A neighbor went to check on Munoz at about 12:30 p.m. and found her body, officials said. The man was gone.

Detectives said the man is Hispanic, 25 to 27 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a possibly pockmarked face and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a T-shirt, black jeans and a black baseball cap.

Anyone with information is asked to call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
