TOMBALL, Texas -- Tomball police are searching for a group of robbers they said assaulted and robbed an elderly couple, KPRC Local 2 reported Tuesday.
The victims' daughter spoke to reporters on Tuesday.
"My father has broken bones in his face and he has a hard time breathing out of his nose," said their daughter, who wanted to remain unidentified. "My parents are healing on the outside, but inside, emotionally, they will never get over this."
Police said at least three men broke into the couple's home on Oct. 12 around 10 p.m.
Investigators said the men beat the 81-year-old man and his 74-year-old wife with pistols and tied them up with duct tape before stealing money and jewelry.
Among the stolen goods, police said the thieves took a 2003 Trinity University National Championship soccer ring and a gold bracelet with gold coins around it.
The suspects fled on foot while the couple was taken to the hospital.
The couple's daughter said her wheelchair-bound father needs surgery for his injuries, but doctors are afraid to operate on him because of his age.
The daughter said her parents had just built their dream home and had been living in the home less than a year.
Now their daughter and her husband are staying with her parents.
"My parents are the sweetest, nicest, best parents in the world and I just cannot understand how there could be such vicious people out there," said the victims' daughter.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to $10,000 for information leading up to an arrest. The Crime Stoppers phone number is 713-222-TIPS.
