CROSBY, Texas -- A teenager has been hospitalized after leading police on a high-speed chase in the Crosby area, KPRC Local 2 reported.
The chase ended with the teen being shot by a Harris County Precinct 3 deputy.
Deputies said an 18-year-old driver was behind the wheel of his mother's Ford Mustang when he began driving erratically.
Around 9 a.m., deputies spotted the car and tried to pull him over.
"Our units observed the car traveling an excess of 90 mph on F.M. 2100, fell in behind it, activated their emergency equipment. The vehicle refused to stop," said Sgt. M.J. Connor with the Harris County Precinct 3 Constable's Office.
Deputies pursued the car for 15 minutes.
Deputies tried to pull the teen over a second time on F.M. 2100 and Stence. Deputies said when they approached the car the teen tried to run them over. That's when one deputy opened fire hitting the teen in the shoulder area.
The teen was transported to LBJ hospital in stable condition.
His name has not been released.
