Police: Suspicious Man Approaches Girl

Conroe, Conroe ISD Police Increase Patrols

A suspicious man approached a girl shortly after she got off her school bus, police told KPRC Local 2.

Conroe police said the 10-year-old girl reported that the man in a car and drove alongside her as she walked home on South 6th Street near Martin Luther King Boulevard at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The man started to talk to the girl and asked her what her name is, police said.

Investigators said the girl felt uneasy and ran toward her home.

The man did not attempt to make physical contact with the girl, police said.

The man was described as black, about 50 years old with gray and black hair. He was wearing sunglasses. His car was described as a "smaller" brown and tan Chevrolet pickup truck with a green bumper. The word "Chevrolet" was lettered across the truck's tailgate.

Conroe and Conroe Independent School District police have increased patrols in the neighborhood and at area bus stops.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Conroe police at 936-522-3205.
