HOUSTON -- A dangerous serial robber is on the loose. Police say he's held up at least three convenience stores at gunpoint, KPRC Local 2 reported.
The latest robbery was Friday around 4 p.m. The suspect aimed a gun at clerk Mario Albindcosta.
"I didn't know what to do so, I handed over the cash and then he took the money," he said.
Albindcosta said the robber, who was wearing blue coveralls and a blue and white cap with flames, asked him for a price check then pulled out his gun.
The South Houston police chief said the robberies are happening far too often and in broad daylight.
"You count the days, we've got (September) 16th, the 25th and the second of October so, we're talking once a week now," Chief Herbert Gilbert said. "That's only South Houston that we know of."
Police said the robber has struck three locations in South Houston including the store on 102 S. Allen Genoa Road.
They also said Houston police may have linked him to several robberies there.
The chief said between the video taken at the scene at 902 S. Allen Genoa Road, and pictures taken from the scene at 820 Spencer Highway, the robber should be identified.
Clerk Robby Goes said a picture of the robber in the parking lot and one of the robber facing the register came thanks to some quick thinking by his boss.
"My manager, he just moved aside so that the camera could take a good picture of that guy," Goes said.
Until the robber is caught, these cashiers said they will not have peace.
Police said the robber's vehicle is a maroon Ford Taurus 2000-2005 model with dark tint. They said the tint appeared to be missing on the driver's side door.
If anyone has information on these robberies, call the South Houston Police Department at 713-944-1910.
