Man Wanted In 3 Bank Robberies

FBI: Man Robbed 2 Banks In 1 Hour On Aug. 28

POSTED: Tuesday, September 29, 2009
UPDATED: 8:23 am CDT September 29, 2009

A man is wanted in connection with three bank robberies in the Katy and Houston areas, KPRC Local 2 reported.

FBI officials said the latest robbery was at the Cinco Ranch Bank of America branch in the 22100 block of Westheimer Parkway shortly after 10 a.m. Monday.

Investigators said the man walked into the bank, pulled out a semiautomatic pistol, racked the slide and pointed the pistol directly at a teller.

The gunman angrily shouted and told everyone in the bank that they were being robbed, officials said.

The man handed the teller a recyclable grocery bag and demanded that it be filled with cash, investigators said. He became irritated when the teller began filling the bag with small denominations of money and demanded the teller to fill it with $100 bills, detectives said. The teller complied.

Detectives said the man left the area on foot and was last seen crawling through a fence bordering the Ashley House Apartments.

The same man is also suspected in robberies at the Wachovia Bank in the 5600 block of Memorial Drive and the Bank of America in the 1500 block of West Bay Area Boulevard on Aug. 28. During those robberies, the man wore a silver sweat-inducing exercise suit and headphones.

The man was described as white, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, heavyset with a light complexion and dark brown or black hair with a receding hairline. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved buttoned dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up, blue jeans and sunglasses.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
