FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – A 21-year-old woman was arrested for money laundering after more than $100,000 in U.S. currency was discovered during a traffic stop in Conroe on Saturday, according to authorities.
Around 10:25 a.m., a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper stopped a car that was speeding southbound on U.S. 59, authorities said.

The trooper called a DPS K-9 team to the scene after observing indicators of criminal activity during the traffic stop, according to investigators.
The dog alerted troopers to narcotics, authorities said.
While searching the vehicle, authorities found 10 bundles of U.S. currency.
The driver of the car, Vicky Martinez, 21, of Rio Grande City, told investigators the currency was proceeds of criminal activity, according to authorities.
Martinez was arrested for money laundering.
A 16-year-old passenger was released to Child Protective Services.
Martinez was booked into the Fort Bend County Jail.
