HOUSTON -- Houston firefighters received a tasteful thank you for putting their lives on the line every day, KPRC Local 2 reported Monday.
The Olive Garden surprised firefighters at Station 3 on Fannin near the Texas Medical Center with a catered lunch.
The restaurant near Old Spanish Trail served the firefighters to show its appreciation for their work in the community.
The firefighters said they were grateful.
"I'm thankful for the community coming out and appreciating us. We all appreciate it very much," firefighter Jesus Anzaldua said.
Another Olive Garden restaurant supplied lunch to Fire Station 4, located at 6530 W. Little York.
Approximately 700 Olive Garden restaurants across the country surprised firefighters and police officers with lunches as part of their Labor Day celebration. It's the eighth year for the annual event.
