HOUSTON -- Items found in the search for a missing teen are being checked to see if they provide clues to her disappearance, News2Houston reported Monday.
Maria Isabelle Solis was last seen on March 4.
Texas Equusearch set up a command center in southeast Houston to map out a search area.
Solis was last seen around 8:40 a.m. at a METRO bus stop, next to the Gulf Freeway Inn, 2391 S. Wayside.
Houston police were called to a wooded area off Silsbee Street to gather potential evidence found by searchers over the weekend.
"(We found) panties, some pantyhose, some boots, a bra and what looked like a black top," said Tim Miller with Texas Equusearch.
An employee who works near the area said that he remembered seeing a dark Cadillac parked in the area for 30 minutes the same week that Solis disappeared.
As the car sped off, the employee, Jonathen Montes, found a towel with fresh blood on it.
"They said that it was a good thing I let them know, because they can find out if any of it is her blood," Montes said.
Solis' father said that he was not sure if the boots found actually belonged to her, even though she was wearing the same type and color when she was last seen.
However, the girl who loaned Solis the boots said that they were definitely not hers.
It's not known if the other items found are connected to the case.
An account has been established at Southwest Bank of Texas for the Maria Solis Recovery Fund.
Her father has not been able to work since she disappeared so he could concentrate on the search.
The fund would cover his living expenses.
