Xiaokang Zhao Charged With Murder

HOUSTON -- A man has been charged in connection with a woman's death outside a southwest Houston karaoke bar, KPRC Local 2 reported Wednesday.Houston police said Xiaokang Zhao, 22, fatally shot 21-year-old Miao Yan Feng outside the Love of 1970 Cafe in the 6100 block of Wilcrest Drive at about 2:30 a.m. Monday.Investigators said Feng was leaving the cafe with her boyfriend when he got into an argument with Zhao at the entrance.Zhao shot the boyfriend twice, police said. Feng knelt down to help him and Zhao shot her twice, detectives said.Feng died at the scene. Her boyfriend was taken to Ben Taub Hospital and is expected to recover.Zhao has been charged with murder. He has not been arrested.Police said Zhao has used the aliases of "Victor Zhao" and "Kang Kang."Anyone with information regarding Zhao's whereabouts is asked to call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
