MISSOURI CITY, Texas -- A vice president at
Houston Metropolitan Transit Authority is facing felony charges of sending indecent pictures to an underage boy, and police said they are checking to see if the images were sent from his government computer, Local 2 Investigates reported Friday.
A Fort Bend County grand jury indicted William Murphy Madison, 44, of Houston, on charges of online solicitation of a minor, and he was arraigned before a district judge in Richmond this week.
He was released from jail after posting an $80,000 bail, according to prosecutors.
The
Missouri City Police Department detective assigned to the case told Local 2 Investigates that a mother called police when she found the indecent images on her family's computer.
The detective said approximately 10 nude images were sent to the underage boy who lives at the home.
Police traced the e-mail, which resulted in the felony indictment against Madison.
The detective said he was working to confiscate and search Madison's computer from his Metro office, in addition to a laptop he is known to carry, to determine whether the indecent images were sent from his government computer.
METRO spokeswoman Raequel Roberts said her agency is cooperating with police, and prosecutors said the agency has the legal authority to hand over his computer since it belongs to the government agency.
Metro has suspended Madison without pay from his $136,000 per year job, where was hired in 2007 as Associate Vice President of Infrastructure and New Initiatives.
A phone listing for Madison could not be located and he could not be reached for comment.
He has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
