New Year's 2012 Forecast
HOUSTON -

New Year's Eve is shaping up to be a wet one around the Houston area.  We've been watching the forecast for a several days and it's looking consistently wet beginning Monday night and continuing well into Tuesday -- possibly into Wednesday, too.

Timing of the rain doesn't work in New Year's Eve revelers' favor.  The celebration at Discovery Green and other outdoor events may turn out more muddy than merry.  We could pick up a half-inch of rain Monday night.

The rain could continue into New Year's Day, too.  Timing on the exit of the rain is questionable, but Jan.1 will at least start on the wet side.  Some forecast models actually keep the rain lingering in the area as late as Wednesday.  By the weekend, we hope to have the forecast firmed-up a little better, knowing exactly how big the window of wet weather will be.
