HOUSTON -

Officials say two women face prostitution charges after an incident Saturday in southwest Houston.

Houston police said a 28-year-old woman from Freeport came to Houston with a friend.

Instead, the victim's friend took her to the Plainfield Inn at 9638 Plainfield Street.

That's where Sylvia Aquino and Nyjah Durant are accused of trying to intimidate the victim into committing prostitution, according to police.

Authorities said the victim was forced into prostitution that night, and when she tried to escape the hotel, she suffered a broken nose.

The motel's manager called police, and Aquino and Durant were arrested and charged with compelling prostitution.

Aquino is being held on $20,000 bond. Durant is being held in the Harris County Jail on no bond.

Both women were due in court Wednesday.
