2 wanted in restaurant robbery

LA PORTE, Texas – Two armed men held up a fast-food restaurant at gunpoint, investigators said.

La Porte police said two men walked into the Jack in the Box in the 9600 block of Fairmont Parkway about 11 p.m. on Friday.

Investigators said the manager told them that the first robber stood by the entrance of the front counter, lifted up his shirt and showed employees a gun. The second robber then walked behind the counter and tried to open a register with a screwdriver, but he failed, police said.

The manager handed over $236 from a drive-through register and the robbers left, investigators said.

The first robber was described as Hispanic, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall and 200 to 225 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a red and blue windbreaker and a turtleneck shirt pulled above his nose.

The second robber was described as Hispanic, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 165 to 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing dark-colored clothing, including something that covered the majority of his face.
