2 arrested after baby's memorial fund stolen from restaurant

More than $600 was in the jar at the time of the theft

CLEVELAND, Texas – A man and woman were arrested Wednesday following accusations they stole a donation jar for an 18-month-old's memorial fund in Liberty County, according to the Cleveland Police Department.

Lyndsay Noelle Radabaugh, 19, and Joseph Shane Horn, 21, are being held at the CPD jail after authorities said they took a donation jar containing more than $600 from Papa Ro's Pizza.

The boy's mother, Kayla McCool, used to work at Ro's, so that's why the restaurant was helping her out. Her son Greyson developed an earache that turned into double pneumonia.

"We took him to the hospital on a Friday in Conroe, and it was pneumonia — double pneumonia — they couldn't help him," McCool said.

Greyson died on April 27.

Owner Ro Chea recognized Radabaugh and Horn, who were caught on camera. With his help, police were able to tracked down the pair and arrest them.

Chea said they will continue to allow donations at the restaurant to help Kayla out. Anyone can also donate to the Greyson McCool-Terry Benefit Memorial at Wells Fargo Bank locations.

Radabaugh and Horn are charged with Class B Theft. Horn was caught on camera arguing with Rudabaugh at the jail about who was responsible for the theft.

"This isn't fair," Horn said. "I shouldn't be recorded for something somebody else did. Shut up! (Lyndsay) did this! You did this!"

"They never ordered anything," Chea said. "The bartender asks if they want anything, and they always tell her they don't have no money."

Chea said the alleged thieves not only stole from Greyson's mother but also the community trying to ease her pain. He said the men are now contributors to that pain.

"I don't know them, but if they would'a had a heart, they wouldn't have done it," Chea said.
