2 suspect arrested in 3 bank robberies

HOUSTON -

Two men arrested Thursday morning are suspected of robbing at least three banks.

Houston police said two men held up a Wells Fargo bank in the 12800 block of the North Freeway shortly after 7 a.m. They passed a note demanding cash to a teller, but they didn't get any cash, officials said.

About 9 a.m., one of the men robbed the Capital One bank in the 100 block of Greens Road by once again giving a teller a note demanding cash, according to authorities. The teller gave him bills rigged with a dye pack and a tracking device, investigators said.

Detectives said they believe the other man also robbed a Chase bank on Greens Road on Wednesday morning.

Both men were arrested at a motel shortly after the Capital One bank robbery, officials said. The dye pack went off and the robber tried to washing off the dye at the motel, investigators said.

FBI officials have declined to release the suspects' names until they are formally charged.
