Two schools in northeast Harris County were locked down on Thursday while deputies searched for a man wanted in connection with a crime.
Huffman Independent School District officials said the lockdown order was issued for Huffman Middle School and Hargrave High School.
Harris County sheriff's deputies said they were searching the area of Scott Road near F.M. 2100 for a person wanted in connection with a crime. Officials have not released any details about the crime or the person they are searching for.
Even though the person had not been captured, the lockdowns were lifted at about 2:20 p.m. Officials said they suspected that the man was no longer near the schools.
A mass alert was sent out to parents to let them know about the lockdown.
